In Towers of Aghasba erkundet ihr eine fantasievolle Open-World-Insel, baut Städte und sorgt dafür, dass die Natur der verdorrten Welt wieder erblüht. In den ersten Trailer besticht das Spiel vor allem durch seine schicke Optik und eine sehr frei anmutende Erkundung auf dem Land, unter Wasser und in der Luft.
Mit der Zeit lernt ihr immer mehr der teilweise riesigen Kreaturen kennen, verhelft eurer Zivilisation zu neuem Glanz und ladet auch bis zu drei weitere Freunde im Koop ein. Ihr könnt aber auch alleine losziehen, erkunden, sammeln, bauen und kämpfen. Entwickler Dreamlit Games beschreibt ihr Spiel selbst als Mischung aus Animal Crossing, Zelda: Breath of the Wild und dem Ghibli-Film Nausicaa.
Nun wissen wir auch, wann es losgeht: Im November 2024 startet Towers of Aghasba auf PS5 und PC in den Early Access.
Zugegeben: Auch wenn das auf dem PlayStation Showcase angekündigte Tower of Aghasba sicherlich einiges von The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom unterscheidet, versprühten einige der gezeigten Spielszenen harte Vibes des Open World-Abenteuers für die Switch. Denn wie Link kann der Held unter anderem mit einem Gleiter von erhöhten Positionen segeln.
Und ähnlich wie auch im neuen Zelda werden den Spieler*innen in der Fantasywelt von Tower of Aghasba offenbar viele kreative Freiheiten gelassen. Grundsätzlich geht es im Spiel darum, eine eigene Fantay-Insel zu gestalten und zu bevölkern. Dafür lassen sich offenbar ganze Ökosysteme mit seltsamen, teils riesigen Kreaturen platzieren, von denen der Gameplay-Trailer bereits einige zeigt. Auch Erkundung soll zu den wichtigen Gameplay-Eckpfeilern des Spiels gehören.
Im Trailer ist eine recht frühe Version des Spiels zu sehen, die aber schon einen tollen Eindruck und definitiv Lust auf mehr macht. Und wer weiß, vielleicht wird Ghost of Aghasba ja tatsächlich so etwas wie das Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom für die PS5. Neben der Version für die PlayStation-Konsole wird es übrigens auch eine PC-Fassung geben.
